Hi, this car is kicking everyone s ass.. 92 lexus sc400. 128k. Super publicize car that I am ready to steer off a cliff. had a idle surge suffering that I researched online and did tests (per the manual) upon tps, iac and maf and cleaned the TB. After a pain 2-3 swap used IAC s, I took it to the master tech at lexus. He said it was the IAC valve. He tried my used ones.. and finally a rebuilt one. nevertheless had issues. incite to the dealer.. this grow old he says, it needs a ECU. I did a lot of research upon them, and found that its a common suffering with this car.. bought a used one.. more trouble. had the original one rebuilt by a specialist.. and that s where I am at now.. Put it in tonight and the car idles at 2k rpm. Does the TPS need to be re-adjusted? The master tech did all sorts of diagnostics on every connected parts (tps, maf, iac). $100-200 all times I resign yourself to it reach the dealer for diagnostics.. upon going problems are in reality extra up. I m undecided to touch the tps if he had it dialed. Any insight? Thanks in advance. Jason

I did re-check them tho. The master tech did extensive tests upon the air flow meter and said it was good. similar to I unplug it and run the motor, the car runs sharp and at 850ish. I can lonely guess that my new rebuilt ecu has an issue, or the tps needs to be re-adjusted, or anyhow my maf has died in the midst of every this. I don't think the tps has that much manage in the rotate of rpm though? I think it only adjusts it approaching 1k..

Hello the TPS does have an effect upon switching the car into idle mode as a result I'd suggest to make positive the throttle plate is 100% closed and not slightly stranded next carbon. and after that get used to the TPS appropriately that the IDL stick is continuous to the E2 pin bearing in mind the throttle is closed, and gate circuit considering the throttle is just cracked. Don't distress just about any voltages, the IDL gate is the truly important one.
